How to: Magnesium Bicarbonate

Magnesium bicarbonate

As a nutritionist, I love Magnesium Bicarbonate because of its gentle and effective way of getting much-needed Magnesium AND bicarbonate to the body. It’s also extremely cost-effective.

Here is how to make a concentrated form of magnesium bicarbonate with our Magnesium Hydroxide powder.

All you will need is:

  • 750ml-1L of carbonated water, chilled

  • 1/2 teaspoon of magnesium hydroxide

Method:

  • Ensure your carbonated water is chilled

  • Measure up a level teaspoon of the magnesium hydroxide

  • Slowly drop it into the bottle of carbonated water (you may need a funnel)

  • I recommend that you leave a fair gap between the water level and the top of the bottle, as this will really start to bubble and could overflow.

  • Once the magnesium hydroxide is in the bottle and the bubbles have died down, put the lid on and shake it up.

  • Then leave in the fridge overnight (you can shake it once after an hour or so just to make sure it’s all mixed)

  • The solution should be clear when it’s ready

  • Then you have a concentrated solution of magnesium bicarbonate!

How to take:

  • Serve 1/4 of a cup of the solution in your water bottle for the day (you can have more depending on your stress levels)

Easy! Keep the magnesium and bicarbonate levels up to keep the stress down.
